Counselling
A structured, confidential talking therapy for mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Focused on building self-understanding and developing your own coping skills — rather than offering one-size-fits-all advice.
A space to think, feel and move forward
Many of us carry difficulties — anxiety, low mood, grief, relationship strain, life transitions — without ever having the space to properly explore them. Counselling creates that space. Sessions are confidential, unhurried, and led entirely by what you bring.
Rather than offering diagnosis or prescribed solutions, counselling works by helping you develop your own clarity and resilience. Over time, most people find they understand themselves better and feel more equipped to navigate what life throws at them.
Integrative Counselling with Claire-Laure Tan
Claire qualified as a professional counsellor in 2026, adding emotional wellbeing to the physical and structural care she has offered at Forma for over two decades. Her background as a dancer, movement teacher and osteopath gives her an unusually embodied understanding of how emotional experience lives in the body — and how the two are inseparable.
Claire has a particular depth of understanding around depression, and works with sensitivity and patience with clients navigating low mood, loss of motivation and the quieter, less visible forms of emotional struggle.
Her approach is integrative — drawing on a range of therapeutic frameworks including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution Focused techniques. Sessions are led by you, at your pace, without agenda. Claire works with clients one-to-one from the Forma studio in Stroud.
Claire holds a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling for Adults & Young people approved by CPCAB (Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) and she is a member of NCPS (National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society).
